In the universe of Lions Clubs, we have had in the opinion of many, the best ever District 201 N5 Convention held in Castle Hill, Sydney in 2014 when our own Lion Dr Anthony Cheung was District Governor. The nine lions dance, the two pipe bands, the Jazz band as well as the Youth Wind Orchestra and the vocalists were absolutely professional. All the proceedings of the business of the Convention went smoothly. Without disappointment, most people nominated for a position were elected. Even the audited accounts of the District were approved without a single question asked.
The Sydney Chinese Lions Charity Ball 2023 held at the Parkside Ballroom, International Convention Centre Sydney, was a resounding success in raising funds for our major beneficiary The Australian Red Cross. The donation of $45,000.00 is to assist them with their humanitarian and disaster preparedness initiatives and operations. This donation propelled the aggregate amount of donations made by the Club to exceed $1 million.
